The TV and DVD have no settings about that.
I'm running windows 7 and it it's settings it indicates just a stereo output (i don't know why). I read a few threads and found people with similar problems - people suggested checking the settings on all devices and make sure surround is enabled. The stereo jack is inserted in the headphones port of the TV and the cinch is in their corresponding ports in the DVD. The DVD and TV are connected via a Stereo Cable to Dual RCA Cinch. The Nvidia control panel directed me to the windows sound options, here are some screenshots when i try to configure it
The video card does recognise the TV as an audio source. My laptops is a Dell 5110 with an Nvidia 525M. The TV and laptop are connected with an hdmi cable. I've connected my laptop to a plasma tv, which is connected to a DVD player with surround sound(all 6 speakers were working before, now just 3-the sub woofer and the main left and right speakers).
First let me say that my system was working well and all of a sudden it stopped, i'm trying to find out why.
